On the obverse of 2010 Mexican Silver Libertad Coins, you will find the official seal of Mexico. This emblem contains a rather curious image involving an eagle atop a cactus eating a rattlesnake. Surrounding this coat of arms are ten previous Mexican seals used throughout the country’s history.
The reverse of 2010 1 kg Mexican Silver Libertad Coin contains a statue of Winged Victory. If you visit downtown Mexico City, you will see the real-life version of this statue placed atop the Angel of Independence monument. This reverse design is set against a backdrop of the Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl volcanic mountains. Inscriptions are also shown on the reverse that read 1 kg Plata Pura 2010 Ley .999.
