These massive proofs were struck to proof quality in high relief at the Shenzhen Guobao Mint. Each one is struck on specially prepared 10 oz .999 pure Silver planchets and highly polished dies. These medals have no face value. The Chinese Moon Festival is a holiday similar in many respects to Thanksgiving in the United States. This is a holiday marked by family gatherings and meeting with friends to give thanks. The moon served ancient peoples as an accurate way to determine the passing of time.
