Engaging One-Year-Only Panda Design
Though not a legal-tender coin, this medal was struck by China’s Shenzhen Guobao mint in two ounces of highly pure 99.9% fine silver. It features an engaging one-year-only design depicting a solitary juvenile Panda bear eagerly foraging in a leafy patch with a large outline of the Moon looming large in the background. The coin’s obverse shows the Great Wall of China along with the Shenzhen Mint’s “Z” mint mark, a feature rarely used on the releases in China’s Panda series.
